I can't quite believe how smoothly this morning has gone. J is now having an hours lesson every weekday, and from today he has a new TA teaching him, someone who has never taught him before, someone he knew by sight but had never even spoken to before.
Yesterday was the first time in (and no exaggeration) years, that the last day of the holidays was not, to be blunt, completely hideous. At one point he told me he was looking forward to his lesson, but other than that school wasn't even mentioned. There were no anxieties, no worrying, no crying, no meltdowns.
And this morning he got up, ate breakfast, got dressed in his uniform. We did the school and nursery run for the others, and he said he wished his lesson was earlier than it was so he didn't have to wait. He was excited in the car on the way there, went in calmly, and did his lesson perfectly. He's already looking forward to tomorrow.
Wow.
Super proud of my biggest boy today.
Treble wow :)
ReplyDeleteAnd so you should be, but having a great mum has obviously helped. Hope it stays so positive for both you and him.
